12-Day Kilimanjaro Hike & Safari

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Moshi

Arrival at JRO, transfer to Moshi, pre-climb briefing. Driving/trekking time: ~1 hr. Accommodation: Moshi Mid-Range Hotel.

Day 2

Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

Driving/trekking time: ~1 hr to gate. Accommodation: Mandara Hut.

Day 3

Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

Accommodation: Horombo Hut.

Day 4

Acclimatization at Horombo Hut

Accommodation: Horombo Hut.

Day 5

Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Accommodation: Kibo Hut.

Day 6

Summit Day: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Descent to Horombo

Accommodation: Horombo Hut.

Day 7

Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate to Transfer to Arusha

Driving/trekking time: 2.5–3 hrs. Accommodation: Arusha Mid-Range Lodge.

Day 8

Tarangire National Park

Driving/trekking time: Time: 2.5 hrs. Accommodation: Tarangire Mid-Range Lodge/Tented Camp.

Day 9

Ngorongoro Crater

Driving/trekking time: ~2 hrs. Accommodation: Ngorongoro Mid-Range Lodge.

Day 10

Serengeti National Park

Driving/trekking time: 3–4 hrs. Accommodation: Serengeti Mid-Range Tented Camp.

Day 11

Serengeti to Arusha

Driving/trekking time: 6–7 hrs. Accommodation: Arusha Mid-Range Hotel.

Departure
