Northern Circuit Safari & Kilimanjaro Experience

A nine-day safari takes you to the Northern Circuit's best and most popular wild destination parks, giving you adequate time to explore various parts of the Serengeti, staying three days in Serengeti, overnight in Tarangire, a day in Ngorongoro crater, canoeing & cultural exploration in lake eyasi before finalizing with a refreshing day of the foothills of mount Kilimanjaro.

Destinations include Arusha (start/end), Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park (Central/North), Ngorongoro Crater/Highlands, Karatu (or Lake Manyara area), Kilimanjaro region (Moshi). This 9 days (8 nights) itinerary combines guided game drives, quality accommodations, and seamless ground handling from arrival to departure.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Arusha

Arrive in Arusha (or Kilimanjaro) airport; transfer to hotel in Arusha for rest. Brief orientation and overnight in Arusha

Day 2

Arusha – Tarangire National Park

Morning drive south to Tarangire NP for full-day game drive. Tarangire is known for elephants and baobabs. After a picnic lunch at Tarangire, continue wildlife viewing. Late afternoon, drive to Karatu (or Manyara) and overnight in lodge/camp. Accommodation: Lodge/Camp near Karatu/Tarangire. Driving time: ~3–4 hours.

Day 3

Karatu – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, depart Karatu and head to Serengeti NP via Ngorongoro Highlands road. Stop at Oldupai Gorge (human evolution site) if time permits. Arrive Serengeti in the afternoon for an evening game drive in Central Serengeti. Overnight in tented camp or lodge inside Serengeti. Accommodation: Tented Camp in Serengeti. Driving time: ~4–5 hours.

Day 4

Serengeti National Park

Full day in Serengeti. Early morning optional walk, then breakfast and all-day game drives following the migration path and focusing on predators. Picnic lunch in the field. Overnight at Serengeti camp. Accommodation: Same Serengeti Camp/Lodge. Driving time: Continuous game driving within park.

Day 5

Serengeti – Ngorongoro Crater

Morning game drive in Serengeti, then depart late morning towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy lunch overlooking the rim at scenic viewpoints. Descend into Ngorongoro Crater for an afternoon game drive in the crater floor (searching for rhinos, hippos, etc.). Late afternoon climb out of the crater and overnight at a lodge on the rim. Accommodation: Lodge/Camp on Ngorongoro rim (or Karatu). Driving time: ~3–4 hours (plus crater drive).

Day 6

Ngorongoro – Arusha

After an early breakfast with views over the crater rim, drive down into the crater again for a short game drive. Late morning head back to Arusha via the scenic highlands, stopping at Ngorongoro rim viewpoint. Arrive in Arusha late afternoon, overnight at hotel. Accommodation: Hotel in Arusha. Driving time: ~3–4 hours.

Day 7

Arusha – Kilimanjaro Area

Morning transfer towards Kilimanjaro region. Depending on schedule, visit Arusha National Park or nearby coffee farm. Arrive at Mt. Kilimanjaro foothills (Moshi area) by afternoon. Optional short hike on Kilimanjaro's lower slopes or visit Materuni Waterfall. Overnight in Kilimanjaro-area lodge. Accommodation: Lodge near Kilimanjaro / Moshi. Driving time: ~1–2 hours.

Day 8

Kilimanjaro Region – Arusha

Early morning optional sunrise view of Kilimanjaro. After breakfast, return to Arusha via scenic routes (coffee farms). Arrive Arusha by midday. Afternoon free or optional city tour (market, museum). Farewell dinner in Arusha. Overnight at Arusha hotel Accommodation: Hotel in Arusha. Driving time: ~3–4 hours total.

Day 9

Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Kilimanjaro or Arusha airport for onward flights. End of tour
